A Successful Water Hyderabad Walk ( 22-Mar-9)  Water Hyderabad project is geared up and got a good beginning.The response from the participants shows that results will be effective. Those who has initiated the project got a strength to continue their efforts to reach Water Hyderabad campaign goals. Water Hyderabad project has started with an objective to spread the message of water conservation / water harvesting needs. Also, to ask the government to use its governance and make the water harvesting pits in every house in Hyderabad.
The rally started from Mahathma Gandhi Statue- Paradise, 8.30AM. The gathering included 300 people from different sectors of the city including - Masab Tank Govt. School students, volunteers from different NGOs – Vridhi, HARD, Prerna, Sayam Cheddam, First Ray Foundation , Helping hands 4 all, Digital Logix, SAVE, Right to walk and many other individuals. The message is “Conserve paani more than money” as we have been using (WATER) which we have never earned. And it is the right time we should pay back for the services of water. 
Each participant’s support is an inspiration to the other participant. Water conserving slogan itself is the actual orator , not the participant. School children were active participants and they added a new color to the campaign which inspired the volunteers even.Participants holding pots in hands helped us in spreading the message of water scarcity - that we are running short of water and very soon will see empty vessels waiting to be filled with water , in every house. SAVE organization has started a campaign “Sujalam” which started by a walk from Indira Gandhi park – Lower tank bund and joined “Water Hyderabad” campaign at Mahathma Gandhi Statue – Paradise, to make this project cause specific that impacts more. Walk went on with the slogans , display boards and empty pots to ask humans to conserve water. It has culminated at Swamy Vivekananda Statue at Tank Bund .
Participants have gathered for a meet after the walk and shared their knowledge, experiences and support to this campaign. All NGO representatives have come forward to give their feedback and addressed every listener. A Pledge that every individual has taken during the meet is “I will not waste water, and I will not let others to waster in my presence." The next immediate actions of Water Hyderabad project includes, training session for all those members who are interested to learn the technology of installing water harvesting pits. Those who got trained will be leaders in their vicinity and carry forward the information.Thereafter approaching all the residential welfare associations in Hyderabad to take their support and train them to build water harvesting pits at their locals. The motto is to spread the knowledge about water harvesting needs, procedures and motivation into the people. The project will matriculate signature campaigns in the month of April-09 and May -09. From 5-Jun-09, the efforts and commitments shall be multiplied as we would start approaching the Government for the needful action. Water Hyderabad walk has been updated in Rainbow FM live and news channels like Enadu, Vaartha, Sakshi, DC have covered the event.
